This sampler is worked on a green linen background, typical of northern New England. It was found in the Dover, New Hampshire area, and is assumed to be from there.

It was worked by Eliza Tucker at age 8 in the year 1809. The condition is good in that the colors are nice and bright. It was obviously folded up in a drawer for many years, and the fold line is evident, as is a small and very well executed patch near the upper right corner.
